At The Diver’s Cup at the Gallery, our team brings hands-on experience and genuine passion for the craft of coffee—rooted in both artistry and a love for depth, much like the underwater world that inspires the brand. What began as simple curiosity evolved into a deep respect for the entire journey of a cup: from the stories behind premium beans and their origins, to the careful roasting techniques, precise brewing methods, and the final pour served in a creative, gallery-style space on Main Street in El Cajon.
Every drink we serve is crafted with intention, reflecting not just flavor but a sense of connection—to the ocean-inspired artwork on the walls, to the local creative community we support, and to the guests who choose to slow down and savor the experience. At The Diver’s Cup, coffee is more than a beverage; it’s a way to dive deeper into craft, conversation, and community.

Bem's
The Diver's Cup at the Gallery is inspired by the world beneath the surface and created by Bems, artists and owner of High Tide Concepts & Design LLC and The Diver's Cup. Rooted in a lifelong connection to the ocean and scuba diving. The concept honors early divers who moved with patience, intention, and deep respect for their environment.
Coffee, like diving, is a craft that rewards care and precision. From carefully sourced beans to the roasting process and the final pour. At The Diver's Cup, coffee is treated as an art form slow, intentional, and immersive reflecting the same craftsmanship and respect found in both at the ECAA gallery and the ocean.
Abby Emmert
Manager and Lead Barista of The Diver's Cup at the Gallery. Her journey in coffee began in a small mountain town in the Colorado Rockies, where she worked in a café that roasted its beans in-house. There, she developed a deep appreciation for the craft of coffee, working hands-on with beans sourced from Southeast Asia, Central America, and Africa, and learning how to highlight their unique flavor profiles through thoughtful roasting and beverage creation.
She holds a Business degree from the University of Colorado Denver and now oversees the daily operations of The Diver's Cup, ensuring every cup reflects quality, creativity, and a meaningful experience for our community.
Jayden Valdez
one of the youngest members of our team and a passionate creator at heart. Jayden brings curiosity and enthusiasm to the craft of coffee, with a growing appreciation for the details, technique, and care that go into every cup.
An artist and ocean lover, Jayden is deeply inspired by the creative world around him. When he's not learning behind the bar, you'll find him surfing and drawing inspiration from the rhythm of the ocean.
Charlene Mosely
a freelance and independent artist whose work spans murals, private commissions, and book illustrations for a wide range of clients.
As the Art & Brand Director, Charlene works closely with the owner Bems from The Diver’s Cup to shape, organize, and bring creative ideas to life from concept to final execution. She plays a key role in elevating the experience at The Diver's Cup at the Gallery, ensuring that every creative element aligns with the brand, the space, and the story we share with our community.
The Diver's Cup at the Gallery is proudly located inside the East County Art Association (ECAA) a nonprofit arts organization established in 1986, with its gallery space opening in 2020. This is where artists, art lovers, and collectors come together to celebrate creativity and community.
Surrounded by rotating monthly exhibitions, our coffee shop lives at the heart of a vibrant creative space. Every visit offers something new to see, feel, and experience from inspiring artwork on the walls to thoughtful conversations over a handcrafted cup of coffee.
